Can I Toot?

Can I toot my own horn for a minute? I'm kinda puffy about the whole thing, really.

I have been doing some art work for the Catholic Children's Aid Society in Hamilton this summer, and I did a poster for them for their foster parent recruitment campaign, and it's on the website now... For downloading!

I'm kinda excited.

Um, so, you can go to the Catholic Children's Aid website to see it... It's on the right hand side of the page.

Hee hee. Does this mean I'm published? In terms of the C.L.A. guidelines, I guess not, right Jenny? It's you and me and our "alternative texts" Jenny!

p.s. See Warren, I do have a life outside of the blog. I'm not the raging loser blog-addict you might think.

p.p.s. I know I know. You were only joking yesterday, and so was I today, so don't give me that sigh that all guys give girls when the girl is being super sensitive.

Aha... I'm here before Warren. Let me be the first to say then Amanda, that is a lovely poster. Who knew you were such an artist? Not to mention blog-writer. You're just all-around amazing!

An artist, writer, hockey player, and entertainer, your depths are boundless, Amanda. Where will you sink next? I guess that didn't come out right but you know what I mean.
Good poster for a good cause, a rare combination, congrats.

I'm not so sure, Val--What do you make of the "dancing hot dog"? Perhaps porn really is Amanda's forte!

Hey Val, isn't it fun to blog at each other even though we're sitting across a table and could really just say what we want to say? Doesn't it have such a delightful "forbidden" vibe? Amanda could you write about our forbidden work relationship?

Amanda has a dancing hot dog? I think I missed something last year, in a big way. Or small way, depends on the dog, I suppose.

Yay Jenny! Can you post your poem on the blog, or are you too shy?

Saskatchewan! Is the poem about me? C'mon, is it? The countdown is on: 10 days until Saskatchewan time. I'm quite excited. And 8 more days of work... And I'm taking a random trip to Vermont this weekend! I know nothing of Vermont but apples and cheese. Anyway, congrats on the poster and on the poem!

Keri, I'm hurt--you know the poem's really about you AND me. I love Saskatchewan too, and I only have 2 days until Saskatchewan time!! Will you be in Saskatoon at the end of August? Can I stalk you down Broadway? Can we meet at Place Riel? Go shopping at the Centre at Circle and Eighth? Swim in the river? Run down Meewasin Trail? Go to a Folkfest that really is a "festival of different folks"?

Aahh S-town, or Toon-town, or Saskabush! I miss you.

You too, Keri,

Oooh! All sorts of good Saskatoon fun! But we would call the Centre on Circle and 8th by its old school name "Circle Park." Can you believe that name was the result of a contest? So I just came back from meeting up with a friend I haven't seen since grade seven (when she moved to Ottawa). I stalked her and she invited me out for drinks. It was pretty crazy. And she scanned a bunch of pictures of us hanging out at Pizza Hut, Putt N Bounce and the parking lot of the car wash across the street. Pretty awesome.
